Full disclosure – we fell into this business, but we haven’t looked back since.

It’s true. We became accidental landlords when we moved to Arkansas back in 2012. Fast forward a few years, we moved back to Cincinnati, Ohio – our home – purchased a multi-family residence, gave it a much needed facelift, and from there…well, the rest is history.

Outside of our day jobs, we tackle home renovations all over Cincinnati. Why? Because we love talking about, looking for, working on, and dreaming about bringing old or neglected homes back to life in a city that we love.

For us, Resist the Boring is more than just a name. It’s how we approach home projects, how we spend our weekends, and how we try to live our lives.

WHO WE ARE

Meet the faces behind the brand.

Chris

Realtor, Marketing & Demo-doer

I’m a Cincinnati guy whose diet consists of Skyline Chili, Dewey’s Pizza and Jeff Ruby’s steaks. During the day, I’m a full-time real estate agent helping clients buy and sell in the Cincinnati area. On the home renovation-front, you can find me doing a mix of behind-the-scenes and on-the-ground work – searching for the perfect house, marketing, collaborating on design, and DEMO! You haven’t lived until you’ve taken a sledge hammer through a wall. My goal is to complement the unique and original aspects of each home with the modern amenities we’ve come to expect. My favorite project would be our Incline District Project – you could host a dinner party in that shower!

Tim

Realtor & Snack Manager

I enjoy spending time with family and friends, adventuring with Chris, having a cold beer or a glass of red wine, maps, cheese, hoodies, laughing, and a healthy amount of yacht rock. I’m originally from Detroit and you can hear me every morning on WKRQ - Q102 with Jeff and Jenn and the 10AM HotList. When it comes to the renovation team, I’m the realtor, project manager, design collaborator, home improvement store runner, product assembler, and jumper into all things manual labor. I’m also in charge of choosing the post work dinner location – the most important part, in my opinion. My favorite project we’ve done so far is The Oakley Project – those floors, though!

Patti

Design & Envelope Pusher

It all started with a toilet paper roll. Did you know that they are the perfect size for Barbie furniture? From the beginning, I was more interested in Barbie's house than her car or clothes. While I pursued my career in radio at the age of 15, there was a moment in college after taking my first design class that I considered interior design. But my love of music kept me in radio. My favorite designs feature items that are a reflection of the homeowner's family, travels, and interests. I love reusing older pieces and finding furnishings, lighting, hardware, and accessories at antique malls, auctions, and warehouses. Half the fun is the hunt! My favorite renovation so far is probably the Incline District Project - it was our first full project together in a neighborhood I love. It was also fun researching the house, too!
